DIVING TO GLORY
"KEEP ON PRACTICING MAKES MAN TO THE PERFECT.WHATEVER YOU DO KEEP ON DOING SO THAT THE SUCCESS WILL BE YOURS FINALLY"
Divya Kumar’s practice and dedication towards her diving classes gained her loads of accolades. And to add on was her win at the All India Inter-University
Competition (AIIUC), where she was the only girl who competed amongst 13 other contestants from across the country. Her win has made the Visveswaraiya Technological University, which she represented at the competition, proud of her.“Representing one’s college at the national level is a great responsibility. It was not easy as I could not let my college down,” said Divya, a 3rd year student at the New Horizon College of Engineering. At the finals, even though Divya stood fourth at the three-metre springboard competition, she never let that affect her confidence. Her aim was to make it for the one-meter springboard and bag at least the bronze medal. But like her, none knew that fate had something else in store. “It was in deed a moment of shock rather than surprise that I stood first and bagged the gold medal. And, being the only girl in the category was icing on the cake,” added Divya.
